Nach dem Studium der  Psychologie und Philosophie an der LFU Innsbruck promovierte er zu ethikbezogenen Aspekten des Organisationsklimas in Unternehmen. Als Visiting Assistant Professor an der University of Oklahoma forschte er zu Fragen der organisationalen Partizipation und führte seine Studien zum ethikbezogenen Organisationsklima sowie zu Fragen der Führungsethik fort. Seit 2012 forschte er im Rahmen seiner Habilitation an der TUM School of Management zu Fragen der ethischen und unethischen Führung. Außerdem engagiert er sich seit 2012 als Dozent im Weiterbildungsprogramm der TUM und für die Executive Education der TUM School of Management sowie als Trainer im Bereich Führung in Forschungseinrichtungen.
